1928 Hubley, No. 11 Harley-Davidson Parcel Post Motorcycle
Spectacular Harley-Davidson Parcel Post Delivery Motorcycle by Hubley. All painted cast iron complete with original matching brown uniformed driver and aluminum handlebars. Everything on this piece is original and correct with the exception of the handlebars. They're original Hubley's, but are not correct for this toy. However the driver, motorcycle, Parcel Post delivery truck with rear door, exhaust clicker, tires, and most importantly the paint are all original. Nothing has been touched up, repainted, or repaired. The gas tank decal, although nearly illegible, is original as well. The only thing not on this toy is the pull string. Hubley produced this vehicle from 1928 until 1933 and was an official Harley licensed product. The motorcycle and delivery truck were available in one color; olive green with gold trim. The driver was available in brown or blue, although blue is much more commonly seen. The tires are solid black grooved rubber with nickel plated iron spokes. It has its original sheet metal clicker attached on the underside near the left rear wheel. "Parcel Post" is embossed in raised letters on both sides of the delivery truck. The rear door is embossed "U.S." and is hinged to lift upward. Size: 10" long, 5½" at its widest point. Weight: Just over 4 pounds. Sold: Jan. 2006
